FRI 4 SEP - Rosemount Hotel - Dodotdash Magazine Launch - with Boys Boys Boys!
Blac Blocs are stoked to be playing at this event:
Presenting our first ever issue!
To celebrate we're inviting everyone down to the Rosemount hotel for live bands, spoken word poems, and general shoe shufflin'. This will be our hello party. There will be open mike spots, typewriters, fanciful art on clothing lines, Polaroids... We've stopped just short of ordering a bouncy castle and a scavenger hunt.
Here be the details of the inaugural dotdotdash party.

Music that waves and smiles at you. Music that sounds really truthful even though it’s also joking a little bit.
Spoken Word
In Bar four5nine, we have a night of spoken wordery hosted by WA Slam Poetry MC Allan Boyd. It will be an open mike/commissioned reader combo with an emphasis on the peeps featured in our magazine. If you would like to perform on the night though, send us an email with an example of what you will perform.
Art Exhibition
There will be a flash art exhibition featuring the work of dotdotdash contributors Amelia Walker, Anna Dunhill, A?ka, Katie Christie, Joseph Avery, Francis Russell, and Soo Bhin Han.
Our Activities
Street Projection
Outside the Rosemount, Jerrem Lynch (http://jerrem.com/notes/ ) will organize Street Projection art. If you would like to participate in some very cool digital street art and you’re pretty okay at drawing, then come out and let your skills shine.
Perth Zine Collective
A zine stall run by members of the Perth Zine Collective. They’ll stock Fergus, I Am Still In Yesterday’s Clothes, Love Like Pop, Okay Ampersand, the Ponies, and more. Let us know if you would like your zine/chapbook/art print/creative craft of any kind sold, and we’ll try to organize a spot for it.
Polaroid Tag
Polaroid tag. We take a picture of someone. If you find that person and bring em to us, you get to be tagged next. Here at dotdotdash, we make you work for your photos.
Commissioned Poets
Poets at your disposal. This event is like a mini-residency. Poets will be stationed at a table with a sign above them that will have their name and poetic specialty on it. You can walk up to these poets and request a poem, and they will write one up for you on the spot. We also have some exciting collaborations, our poets have teamed up with artists to give you illustrations to accompany your poem. This activity will run on a donation basis, feel free to feed the little piggy bank your loose change!
The Story Of The Night
We also have this book. We will call it ‘The Story of This Night’. There will be writing/drawing equipment next to this book. We welcome any of you to write The Story of This Night. There’ll also be typewriters and clothes pegs, if you want to write your own stories and put them up for all to see.
All in all, it’s all gonna be finitely unique, mayhem-riddled, and memorable. Our event organizer, Bree, is calling this a ‘blasting party of interactive fun, where everyone can express their creative side and drop some dancefloor moves to some awesome bands’. I will agree. I think this is going to be pretty alright.
Entry will be $12 on the door. This includes a free copy of the first issue and an entry into our mystery raffle. The raffle will be drawn after Boys Boys Boys play, so stick around to claim your prize! If you’d like to buy the $10 ticket pre-sale ticket, email (editor@dotdotdash.org) to exchange details.
